Fans Favor Letting College Athletes Get Paid

Americans are closely divided over a new law in California that will allow athletes to cash in on their success in college. Those who follow college sports closest tend to like the idea more.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 38% of American Adults favor a law like California’s that allows college athletes in their state to be paid for the use of their names, images and likenesses. Slightly more (41%) oppose such a law in their home state. Twenty-one percent (21%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
