Voters Agree Strong Economy Essential to 'America First'

President Trump in a speech on Monday spelled out in more detail his America First national security strategy. Voters agree that recent presidents haven’t put America’s interests first and share Trump’s belief in the importance of a strong economy. But they're more concerned about global warming than he is.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that just 30% of Likely U.S. Voters think U.S. foreign policy in recent years has put America first. That’s unchanged from May of last year when we first asked this question. But while 60% felt before Trump took office that U.S. foreign policy has been more focused on the rights of those in other countries, only 49% feel that way now. A sizable 21% are undecided.
